A Look Back at the 2026 HRE Construction Charity Golf Tournament
June 10, 2026 | Samantha Mariano
Introduction
In May 2026, HRE Construction hosted its first annual charity golf tournament in Winnsboro, South Carolina, and the turnout exceeded every expectation. What started as an idea to bring the community together around a cause turned into a full day on the course with dozens of players, a lineup of generous sponsors, and all proceeds going directly to Richard Winn Academy.
We are incredibly grateful to every person who played, every company that stepped up to sponsor, and everyone who helped make the day run smoothly. This recap is our way of saying thank you and sharing a few highlights from what was a truly memorable event.

The Day on the Course
The tournament was held at a beautiful venue in Winnsboro, South Carolina, and the weather cooperated for a great day of golf. Carts lined up early, players gathered for the pre-round briefing, and the energy before the shotgun start was exactly what you'd hope for at a first-year event.
Looking around at the crowd assembled in front of the clubhouse, it was clear this wasn't just a golf outing. Players came from across the industry, sponsors showed up with genuine enthusiasm for the cause, and the HRE team was out in force making sure everything ran smoothly from check-in to the final hole.
The course itself was in excellent condition. Fairways were well-maintained, the water holes gave players something to think about, and the setting made for a genuinely enjoyable round regardless of how the scorecard looked at the end.
Benefiting Richard Winn Academy
Every dollar raised at the tournament went to support the students and programs at Richard Winn Academy. The school has been a part of the Winnsboro community for decades, and HRE Construction is proud to support the work being done there.
Giving back to the communities where we live and work is something the HRE team takes seriously. This tournament was a direct expression of that commitment, and the response from sponsors and participants showed that the broader business community shares it.
Thank You to Our Presenting Sponsor
A special thank you goes to Border States for stepping up as the Presenting Sponsor of the 2026 tournament. Their support helped set the tone for the entire event and made it possible to deliver an experience that players and sponsors will remember.
