HRE Construction provides complete industrial instrumentation and automation services for manufacturing and processing facilities across South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Ohio, West Virginia, Texas, Kentucky, Arkansas, Arizona, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Our instrumentation technicians are experienced with all major PLC platforms and a wide range of process measurement technologies, ensuring your automated control systems operate accurately, safely, and reliably. We deliver full-scope instrumentation projects from initial instrument selection and installation through loop calibration, PLC programming, and final commissioning.
We install, program, and commission PLC-based control systems using Allen Bradley (Rockwell Automation), Siemens, ABB, Modicon (Schneider Electric), and Automation Direct platforms. Our programmers develop ladder logic, function block diagrams (FBD), structured text (ST), and sequential function chart (SFC) programs for machine control, process automation, material handling, and safety interlock applications. We write original programs for new systems and also provide program modifications, version upgrades, and troubleshooting for existing PLC installations.
Our integration team connects PLCs to Ethernet/IP, Profibus, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/RTU, and HART communication networks. We configure I/O modules, analog signal scaling, PID control loops, and historian data collection to support process optimization and regulatory reporting requirements.
HRE Construction installs and calibrates a full range of process measurement instruments including magnetic and Coriolis flow meters, differential pressure (DP) flow elements, pressure transmitters and gauges, thermocouple and RTD temperature elements, guided wave and radar level transmitters, and analytical instruments for pH, conductivity, and dissolved oxygen. We route instrument signal cable, install conduit and cable tray for instrument wiring, install instrument air tubing, and perform loop checks and calibration documentation in accordance with ISA-5.1 and ISA-5.4 standards.
All loop calibrations are documented on instrument data sheets that capture zero, span, and field-verified output values. We use calibrated HART communicators and process calibrators to verify transmitter performance against design setpoints before signing off on each loop.
Our technicians design and fabricate custom control panels, marshalling cabinets, and junction enclosures for process control applications. Panels are built to UL 508A or client-specified standards, with full wiring schematics, terminal strip labeling, and equipment nameplates included in the as-built documentation package. We install and configure HMI touchscreens from Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Wonderware, as well as SCADA systems that provide operators with real-time process visibility, alarm management, and data trending.
HRE Construction has experience installing and testing safety instrumented system (SIS) components including safety PLCs, solenoid valve assemblies, pressure safety switches, and emergency shutdown systems. We work in coordination with the client's process safety team and SIS vendor to ensure installation meets the required Safety Integrity Level (SIL) and OSHA PSM requirements. All SIS installation and proof test work is fully documented and delivered as part of the permanent safety management record.
Our instrumentation capabilities span a wide range of process industries and manufacturing environments. We have installed and commissioned instrumentation for food and beverage production lines — including sanitary flow measurement, tank level monitoring, and CIP (clean-in-place) control systems — as well as pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities requiring precise temperature and pressure control, chemical and water treatment plants, pulp and paper production, automotive manufacturing automation, and data center cooling and electrical monitoring systems. Each industry demands specific knowledge of applicable codes, materials, and installation practices, and our technicians are trained to those requirements.
Every instrumentation project HRE Construction completes is supported by a thorough documentation package. We provide as-built loop diagrams, instrument index updates, calibration data sheets, control panel wiring schematics, PLC program backups, and a complete commissioning report. These documents are delivered in both print and electronic format and serve as the reference baseline for your maintenance team's ongoing calibration and troubleshooting activities. Proper documentation also supports regulatory inspections and ISO quality management system audits.
Beyond new construction and expansion projects, HRE Construction provides instrumentation troubleshooting and repair services for existing facilities. Our technicians can diagnose and correct signal drift issues, failed transmitters, PLC input/output faults, and communication network problems that affect production. We also provide periodic loop calibration services, PLC program backup verification, and control system health assessments to keep aging automation infrastructure reliable. Proactive instrumentation maintenance prevents costly unplanned shutdowns and extends the service life of capital equipment.
